How it works
Moderation policy
Our moderation exists to remove abuse, not opinions. This page describes exactly how it works so both reps and companies know what to expect — the same process for every company, with no premium tier or partner program.
The only removal grounds
A review is removed only if it contains:
- Spam, or content demonstrably not based on a real work experience (fake reviews);
- Doxxing — personal identifying information (name plus contact details, address, etc.) of a private individual;
- An unverifiable accusation of a crime, stated as fact rather than as the reviewer's documented experience;
- Threats, harassment, or hate speech.
Nothing else is a removal ground. "This review is unfair," "this hurts our recruiting," "the rep was a bad performer," and "our lawyer sent a letter" are not removal grounds. Where possible we redact the violating portion (e.g. a private person's name) rather than removing the whole review.
How the queue works
- Anyone can report a review ("Report this review"). Reports are rate-limited to prevent flag-bombing.
- Reported reviews stay visible and keep counting toward ratings while in the queue — flagging a review does not hide it.
- A moderator compares the review against the four grounds above and either keeps or removes it. Every decision requires a written note and is stored in a permanent audit log.
- Removal notices cite the specific ground. Reviewers can rewrite and resubmit a review that fails on a fixable point.
What companies can do
- Claim their page (verified via company-domain email) and post one public, clearly-labeled official response per review.
- Report reviews they believe violate the grounds above, like anyone else.
What companies cannot do
- Edit, hide, or delete reviews or ratings.
- Pay, sponsor, advertise, or threaten their way to different moderation outcomes.
- Obtain any information about who wrote a review — we don't have it to give.
Fake-review policy (both directions)
Fake positive reviews planted by a company and fake negative reviews planted by a competitor are treated identically: removed, logged, and — for repeat patterns — noted publicly on the company page. We never seed, solicit-for-pay, or ghost-write reviews ourselves, and never will.
Legal requests
Formal takedown requests go to legal@d2ddealerreview.com (see the terms for DMCA requirements). We evaluate them against this policy and applicable US law; a legal letterhead does not by itself remove a review.
